About 28 South
28 South is a contemporary American restaurant with products made in house and sourced from local vendors. With a casual, comfortable atmosphere, 28 South offers a delicious medley of freshly made dishes and an extensive selection of craft beer and wine.
The restaurant is located in the former hardware store and warehouse known as the Schindel-Rohrer Building. Built in the late 1880’s and restored in recent years, the building features much of the original architecture, including vaulted ceilings and wood flooring. The mezzanine is available for semi-private functions (up to 25 people) and the private event space can accommodate functions with up to 50 guests.
The adjacent parking deck provides easy access to the Hagerstown Arts & Entertainment District, featuring The Maryland Theatre and unique downtown shops.
